Do drones participate in the robbing of a hive?

topbarslo

Interesting question ... I would like to hear this also !

Brian D. Bray

NO!  Drones are the helpless siblings in the hive.  Their only function is fertalizing  a queen.  They don't even feed themsselves they have the worker bees do it.  That's where the use of the term drone to describe a idle person came from.
Life is a school.  What have you learned?   :brian:      The greatest danger to our society is apathy, vote in every election!

Thanks Brian,
I did know that their only reason for being is to fertalize the queen, but I didnt know that they didnt feed themselves.

I see that drones are pretty much like men :D

We need to be fed also :)

Mici

this is something that should be included in the wedding vow.
you promise you will nurse him, feed him, spoil him etc etc just so you can breed with him
bees really are the perfect example how men deserve to be treated, except for the winter part

Brian,

I always assumed that the term "drone", when applied to a human, referred to an individual (male or female) who worked steadily and mindlessly.
