Honey sales......

I used to sell my surplus honey in pint and quart mason type jars...I never liked the idea of that method because it looked like everyone else's honey - same type jars - honey looked the same.  I'd sell it for $5 a pint - $8 to $9 a quart like everyone else around here.

This yr. I sold it by weight and volume, 1 lb. Queenline glass honey jars @ $5 and 18 oz. fancy sq. glass jars @ $7 \ both had hang tags on them.  Everyone really liked the new look of the jars and no one said a thing about the price.  I could have sold twice as much as I had.  Doing alittle math I averaged $14+
per quart compared to $8 to $9 last yr..  Just thought I'd share that with y'all  - just proves change is good.

Are these prices in line with other areas of the country....?

i was charging $5/pound which is close to what you charge. a quart is about 3 lbs.

I have jars ranging from 4 oz to 4 lbs. On another local list I am on I told everyone about my honey and I about got mobbed at $6.00 per pound. something like this,
4 oz - $1.50
8 oz - $3.00
16 oz - $6.00
2 lbs - $12.00
4 lbs - $24.00

I had only made up one four pound jar and everybody wanted it. These were just jars we emptied and saved. Baby food jars. Spaghetti sauce jars. Pickle jars. Pace Pecante sauce jars. I just made up a simple lable  "Raw Natural Wildflower Honey" and taped it to the jars.
