Here is a picture of some of the honey I bottled recently.

This is basically wildflower honey it is dark like tea.

The big jars are chunk honey.

The labels say:
Bee Good Honey
Pure Wildflower Honey
and in small print at my wife's insistance.
From:
Bee Barf Apiaries.

Nice, so the dark honey is from wild flowers cause thats what mind is, I thought it was dark cause late summer early fall darker honey? Who new learn something new everyday, anyway got the last of my honey, just three frames.  I will be feeding all winter not a big problem.  Anyway hope yours is as good as mind :-D

My honey is always dark year round. My bees get their nectar from a mix of things from four O clocks, fireweed, papya, sunflowers, gourds, beauty berry, porterweed, and more. It's just a mix of everything. It ends up dark. Nothing I can do about it. But there isn't anything I would change about it.  :-D

The melissa pollenologist who spoke to my bee club said that dark honey (at least in Georgia) in the spring is due to tulip poplar and in the mid to late summer is due to sumac or catalpa.

I don't know, my favorite honey for eating is early summer or first harvest.  It's drawn from dewberries (wild blackberries) and is very light with a very delicate flavor.  I've often thought about entering it in the state fair - it's that good.  Normally I like to make mead with tha late summer stuff as the flavors are more robust and lend more to the drink rather than the bisquet.

This years looked like lite colored tea. Almost clear. Explodes w/ flavor. I am alsmost sold-out/given away all 12 gallons. Might place a super on tomorrow as my hives are heavy and a flow is happening. Would love to get one fall box or so!
