For my book club (we read A Hive of Suspects - a mystery in which the bees are suspected of murdering the beekeeper), I made a skep beehive cake with a pan my daughter gave me from Williams Sonoma - it turned out cute.  I couldn't find candy bees, so I made little bees out of yellow jelly beans with almonds for wings!

Tasted good, too!

So cute!! What a great idea. How did you get the stripes on the jelly beans?? Perhaps you could share your wonderful recipe with us here or on your blog??? I would love to make this cake for friends as they would get a real kick out of it.
