I still think it must be a misprint.  $405.00+ is too much for anything but a 300 year old 1st edition.

Kathy, I have this book. It was one of the first books I got when I began keeping bees.  I haven't looked at it in about 2 years, guess I should peruse it again  ;) :) :)  Have a wonderful and great day.  Cindi

Kathy, I would be more than happy to send you my copy of this book.  I trust it is the same one as you desired.  Hold on...I am going to go and get it....yep, got it, it is not a hard cover though, it is quite light weight with a heavy cover.

Kathy, it would be my pleasure, seriously, and you know I mean it, to send you this book, you could keep it for as long as you would like, that could even be years.  BUT....one fine day, when you no longer need it, you must return it (hee, hee), it is in my bee library, which is getting slowly and slowly bigger and bigger.  So, girl, if you should chose to accept my offer, PM me and give me your personal mailing address, and it will be in your hands.  Again, it would be my pleasure, and would bring that smile to my face.  Have the best and most wonderful day, Cindi

cindi, that is a very generous offer.  i am afraid i would be freaked out to have a book that might be worth that much in my house.  never mind the fact that it might get lost in the mail!!  :-)

i am going to keep searching and put it on some 'wanted' lists.  if i get lucky, someone will come up with it.

what i might ask you to do someday, is recommend a few plants that you have found grow well in our area, and the bees really like.  i have kept up with your gardening posts, but have not made a list.  maybe some stuff that is in the herb family.

Kathy, understood how you feel about postal losses, and you are right.  But honestly, it would not be an issue to me, if it got lost, so be it, not a big deal.  If you cannot find the book, and still desire this book so deeply, just say the word, it will be in your hands.  If you break the book or burn it up with your smoker, so be it too (hee, hee, that was intended to bring that smile to your face).

About our areas.  You will have to clearly identify what your climate is like. I think it may be fairly similar to mine, but I believe you are much colder for much longer, seems to me, when I recall your posts in my mind's eye, you have wintertime for a much longer and a colder period.  We will converse about this.

I will compile a list from the list than Ann and I created.  She gardens on the other side of the country, but for some reason, our cliimates, in my mind's eye, seem to have some common growing conditions.  Not that many, but enough that I see what she grows and she sees what I grow, they are kind of similar.

I will resurrect this old post of Ann's and mine and I will highlight what I think may grow in your area too.  Kathy, have a beautiful and wonderful day.  Cindi

Sorry to bring back an old post from the dead, but this post came up in my mind the other day since I've been interested in getting a copy of it too.  I did some research and found the people that published it back in 89 are still around as "Honeystone Candles" in Blodgett, OR.  You can buy the book new from them for $15 on their website (which I just did 5 minutes ago) at http://www.honeystonecandles.com/
Looks really interesting and will be really nice to know when local honey plants start popping up here in the NW!
