hello yall.i'm about to purchase some more frames and foundation.but still trying to stay on a buget.is it better to buy wax with wire,or pierco/wax rite/plastic with wax on it.most of them will be for the medium supers.i have been shopping at all the big suppliers and as much as i want to build my own the man lake pre assembled wood frames really looks like a good deal.any reports on them.thanks in advance.bill

You can ask fifteen different people and get fifteen different answers.  I use wax coated plasticell and rite-cell with good luck in the hive bodies.  In some the supers I use solid wax foundation simple because we have people who want only comb honey.  Frames that I put in the extractor are only plasticell.  I don't build my own frames just everything else when possible.  I buy a box of 50 at a time, and assemble them myself.   Mann-lake or Dadant can fix you up with frames.

Budget..    Let the bees build their own comb on foundationless frames.. you wont get any cheaper than that..  :-D

Plasticell in mediums for honey harvest is what I use, if you want just liquid honey.

I  have used both wax and plasticell and now I just use wax coated plasticell from dadant  I buy 100 at a time for .80 cents a piece they pop in real easy and fast and you can do 100 in no time I don't sell comb honey so this works for me I've also never had plasticell frames fall apart in the extractor hope this helps.           metzelplex
