Cold isn't really the only issue.  There are mice and there is robbing that are issues.  I leave them on until I see a traffic jam that isn't robbing.

I have noticed a lot of traffic jams, the all want out at the same time when to sun is out...Mice are not a problem, and so far robbing has not been either...

Personally, I would leave it on there for a while. They can eat more now being chilled and wasting more energy than even during the winter.

My two cents :)

Sharon, yep, slow down.  You don't need to remove it until the days and nights both are pretty warm.  Don't worry, the bees will get out, they know how to take turns, this is their lifestyle,  ;) :) :) Enjoy the best of this day, Cindi
There are strange things done in the midnight sun by the men who moil for gold.  The Arctic trails have their secret tales that would make your blood run cold.  The Northern Lights have seen queer sights, but the queerest they ever did see, what the night on the marge of Lake Lebarge, I cremated Sam McGee.  Robert Service

remember, when they move into a wall they usually only have a small hole all year long.  no rush.  the fist thing i'll do is flip mine to the bigger opening, but i won't remove it until i know that the hives are building up.  made that mistake last year and  had lots of robbing!
