Last summer I was working with the colonies and I placed the inner cover on the ground, infront of the hive, the cover had alot of bees on it.  I watched the bees that wanted to go home, they simply crawled along the inner cover, made a little bridge and walked back into their colony.  Bees like to go upwards.  Just a cute little pic, I got video too, which was pretty cool too.  Notice the bees fanning to let the others know that this is the trail, hee, hee  ;) :)

I love to look at the pictures that I have taken of days gone by with the bees.  It brings such a feeling of peace, those dog days of summer, that I know will soon be here, warmth, sunshine, work and relaxation.  Watching the bees, the scents of the hive, the scent of flowers and lush and beautiful green growing pieces of beauty that Mother Nature has allowed us to share with her.  Have the most wonderful day on this beautiful planet we live on.  Cindi

There are strange things done in the midnight sun by the men who moil for gold.  The Arctic trails have their secret tales that would make your blood run cold.  The Northern Lights have seen queer sights, but the queerest they ever did see, what the night on the marge of Lake Lebarge, I cremated Sam McGee.  Robert Service

Something you don't have in Utah, grass.  Come to think of it you don't even have weeds in Utah, too much salt.

Now JP, what a cool picture, told ya, bees love to go upwards.  So, now I ask you, what is that green stuff in the end of the box?  Have a wonderful day, lovin' this life we live, on our great planet, Earth. Cindi

Guess I should not be so opaque . . . . the salt here in Utah is in the lake.  We HAVE grass, but my attempt at humor was that the grass is still under 2 feet of snow . . . . 5 feet in the upper valleys with another storm due in 3 hours.  Despite that, bees are alive and well so for insurance I added some nice 80 degree sugar syrup into the top feeders.  BOY did that patch of green grass look good.  JP

I was referimg to the Bonneville Salt Flats--no grass there, just lots of salt.
