Do you need to download ventrilo to get in on the chat or is there another way to do it. Not much into downloading stuff.

Yes, you need to download the Ventrilo client from here.  It's free.  Set up instructions are in the two sticky posts at the top of this forum.

Cant someone make another topic like the (Fat beeman is text chat tonight all is welcome). I like the link in that topic but no one is ever on it.

I have worked hard, creating instructional windows with actual details in it to aid anyone with any setup questions - you find it at the top of this forum and a link on the main screen where Fat Beeman is mentioned in the news.

Every evening many many people are there to help you setup Ventrilo's settings and we even offer microphones to those needing one and you are always welcome to converse in text alone.

Fat Beeman chooses TEXT CHAT but takes all questions, either in voice or text, as many members use either or both text.

I don't think I can make it any easier - the installation is easy enough, setup takes only a minute and once setup no changes needed. Take the time to read the install program, only a meg big and uses very little resources.

Also, Jordan, those of us who use Ventrilo can use both the text chat and the voice chat simultaneously - if you don't have a mike, that's ok, just type your question and you'll get answers either via text or voice.  We're very careful to not 'step on each others' toes' so to speak, so it really isn't hard to follow.

Ok, I downloaded ventrilo but know where and when i click on the connect button it just says MSG:Contacting Server. What does this mean and will it eventually connect.

It should, if you've got everything set up right.  It's really not hard at all.  Come join us! :)

what does MSG:Contacting server. mean. Does that mean that you are logged on or does that come up after that.

It means it's trying to connect.  Do you not get any further?

Nope it just says that. and does nothing else and i double checked the settings and there all right.
