Hi everybody...
I've been pretty quiet since last year, but the Texas weather has been so so nice that I'm inspired....and could maybe use some advice.
Got home from the road last week (touring band blah blah blah) and made my first inspection of the season.  They're working hard and are bringing stuff in (bluebonnets maybe?) but there's no brood.  Should I be concerned that they haven't started that yet?  And what should I do if I should be concerned?

Welcome back.   8-)

Have you checked for a queen yet?  If they are busy, I would bet there is, but safe to check anyway.  Maybe there's not enough nectar source coming in.  Feeding might help too if you don't see stores building up.  I think maybe start there and report what you find.

Good luck.

Here, I might not panic, but in Texas I think you should have some brood.  Do you have a second hive?  Does it have brood?  You could give a frame to the hive without if you do and they do.  :)
