I hived two swarms in Alta Dena ca. today. There was a old catus I guess at least 100 years old had a hive in the base of the catus. As I was leaveing another swarm came and landed in the hive that was in the base of the old catus. The owner wanted to know were they came from I said I have no Idea.He wanted to know what to do I said leave them alone.I ve never seen bees swarm into a active hive before.Anyone know whats up with that?

What time of day was it? I know of a swarm that was having difficult leaving. (the church cut out) Every day for a little over a week the bee would fly out in the morning and gather on a tree. Then in the evening they would go back to the hive.
