Hee, hee, just trying to catch your attention.  Remember when I made that post quite a long time ago about making the subject line in a new topic being interesting, well, it worked now didn't it?  A big hee, hee, and smiling at the same time.

Yesterday while working in the what I call "new chickenyard" I heard Rocquefort, our great big beautiful white rooster making that noise he makes when he calls the girls to see some food or a bug that he has found.  I found that rather strange because it was coming from inside the chickens' house.

I must go back a bit in my story.  Recently I have put inside this building where they nest and roost two little house things.  One was a mini chicken coop that our friend had made for his wife and they no longer needed. The other was the rabbit house, it was not very big either, but they are perfect places for the ducks and ducks (hee, hee) to go in and lay their eggs, they are laying eggs like there was not tomorrow and love these little structures within their homes.

So I went inside the chicken house to see what Rocquefort was speaking about.  He was inside one of these laying boxes.  I could hear him going on and on about something.  I peeked inside the door of the little house and there he was.  Laying on the straw.  I couldn't resist, so I opened the lid to the box, it is on a hinge and opens so nicely.  There he was looking up at me. He was sitting in the middle, like he was laying and egg.  He didn't.  I checked to make sure, I just wondered if he was going a little crazy.

What on earth was he doing?  I think he may have been encouraging a chicken to come into the duck house to lay an egg.  Any thoughts on this?  I really thought it was strange, he looked just like a chicken does, that kind of trance that they go into when they are waiting there for this egg to magically appear.  Oh dear, life on the farm......does it get any stranger?  Beautiful day, lovin' our lives we live.  Cindi

Perhaps Rocquefort, in his mind, he is laying eggs? Even thought they may be invisible ones. Wacked out rooster?

Your stories are so sweet to hear. Just the gentle side of life coming through and they are funny also.

I love each and every one of them

Yep, we used to have psyllicybum (spelling/) mushrooms out there, actually Stuntz mushrooms or some weird name like that, I think the chickens ate them all up for sure, they only grow in the blueberry patch now, hee, hee.  Beautiful and most wonderful day, Cindi

If your rooster lays an egg you'll know it right away--it will be square.
