i don't know if this is the place for this post, but we have had the discussion about keeping honey and other gunk off our cameras when at the hives.  i am doing a cutout tomorrow.  i know that it will be messy and i have no helper to take pics.  here is my messy looking but functional solution.  i used a small ziploc bag.

i cut slits to allow for the zoom.

Great Idea, should work out great. Maybe put a strap on it to hand it near you and to keep it from falling to the  ground.

Good idea. I try and take a break for pic taking. I wash my hands first, always good to have a bucket of water handy, I swear I that bucket of water is more important than anything.

Kathy, cool, go, girl, go!!!  You got that great idea for sure, and a string attached too, yep, yep.  I always keep a bucket of water handy when I do anything with the bees, it has saved my butt many times.  Beautiful and the most wonderful day, Cindi

I keep my camera in my top pocket on a string around my neck - then it's covered while I'm in the hive, but I can pull it out any time to snap a picture without fear of dropping it.  Still sometimes gets messy.... :-x

Remember rubbing alcohol removes propolis in a snap.  I always have a little jar of it up at my apiary, along with some cotton balls, hee, hee.  Beautiful and most wonderful day, Cindi
