How long to release queen?

I installed a queen on a queenless hive Friday evening.  How soon should I expect the hive to release the queen?  I checked today, and they did not seem to have made much progress.

2 - 3 days.

It varies from overnight til up to 4-5 days, but I'd say the average is 2-3 days.

I would watch for it to be released within three days as well. When installing a queen I always pierce the candy about half way through to give them a bit of a head start. This also allows you to check to see if the candy has hardened.
