My daughter said I should make an energy drink. OK, so what are some easy to make drinks based on honey that she and her college friends would like?

As the originator of the Cranberry Julius when I worked for Orange Julius years ago I can say try something with natural fruit juices, honey as a sweetner, with H2O.  A fruit juice cocktail.  Say mix Cherry and Blackberry juices with a tsp of honey in a 16 oz glass.  Experiment until you get the taste and sweetness levels right and see what happens.  If you have to pasturize the juice and water mix I would suggest adding the honey afterward inorder to get the most out of it, healthwise.
Life is a school.  What have you learned?   :brian:      The greatest danger to our society is apathy, vote in every election!

I never thought of that.  I bet it is good.  Have a recipe?  Once I get around to it, I am going to make honey sweetened sun tea.

Lemon and honey is a good combo.

Thoughts on Replicating Red Bull:

Taurine can be bought bulk, and a 1000 mg dollop (the amount in a red bull) costs only a few cents.  I am a big fan of taurine - it can put the kabosh on a migraine or other neurovascular headache. I think the average teen would be better suited with a slightly lower dose of taurine (300 mg or so).  Not sure about the glucuronolactone in energy drinks - what does it do, and can it be bought by the average Joe?. Dunno!  Then a bit of B-vitamins, not sure which ones would be good and which would make it yucky - niacin has a nice tart flavor but too much makes the skin get prickly and hot (harmless, but alarming). Part of the yellow color of Red bull is from riboflavin.

Iced green tea could add a bit of caffeine for those late night study sessions.
