Great inspection and Thank you!

Yesterday for the first time in almost 2 months, I have queens in all my hives (except one with queen cells, but at least they are on their way).  Not looking for a big harvest this year, just keeping them healthy/prepared for winter.

Of course the girls have been cranky without a queen, making inspections not much fun.  Their demeanor seemed to change gradually, so this "crankiness" didn't seem sudden or that bad.  But going in yesterday, it was an absolute pleasure working with them for a couple of hours as I released queens, did inspections and needed managing as things straighten out.  Good weather, alone with the bees watching and learning them.  I had that great day that Cindi always recommends that we have.  I made a conscious effort to step back and enjoy the moment.

So, my point is THANK YOU to all of you that have helped me directly or indirectly this spring.  And thank you in advance as I'm sure I'll have more questions in the future too. :)

I've made alot of mistakes, have learned so so much and am making progress thus far.  I'd be a mess (and so would the hives) without your generous advice.  It amazes me how much a little insect can impact a life.

Derrick, now doesn't that day just bring a smile to your face, so glad that you had a good one.  You have had your tribulations with queenless colonies, I get that gist, now you have all happy girls in your apiary, they will be working hard all summer and maybe you'll get some of that golden delight, this is an awesome little story, queens can make us feel good.  Have that wonderful day, again, love our life we live, enjoy this life.  Cindi
