I have a very healthy Carniolan hive, and a very weak Italian hive.
Can I take a frame or two of brood from the Carniolan hive, and put it into the Italian hive?

you shouldn't have any problem doing that.

Yes.  Giving brood from strong colonies to weaker ones isn't uncommon and can be done.  Before doing so, I would try and find out why the weak hive is weaker.  If numbers are the only problem, giving them a boost will help.

I won't let grass grow under my feet, there will be plenty of time to push up daisies.

K-R-Farms,
I just have to say, that is coolest avatar I have seen in a while. Welcome to the site, I have not seen you around yet. This is the first post that I have seen of yours. I love that pic. Is it yours? Is that your little boy and pup? I love it. I have a little 4 yr old girl that would give the TV guys a run for their money preaching. After church on sundays we can hardly get a word in, she just prays and preaches constantly on sundays especially.
Anyway, off trac I know but had to comment on that great pic...
Good luck with the brood transfer, and welcome

Hey Frantz
No, it's not my picture, though I wish it was.
Funny, about your little girl.  I know exactly how you feel.
I'm a "part-time" pastor, and have a 4yr old little girl.
She's in the avatar you see now.
She loves to sing "Amazing Grace/My Stains are Gone".
And start her "sermons" with ..."Brothers and sisters, we're here to worship"

She's also starting to interested in the bees.
This is our first year.
She stands about 10 feet away and just marvels at the combs.

God is awesome!
