An intoxicated Williamsburg man shot himself Sunday while trying to gun down bees, state police said.
David W. Walls, 57, shot himself in the hand with a .22 caliber revolver, loaded with .22 caliber buck shot, in the Canoe Creek area of Frankstown Township. Hollidaysburg state police said Walls was drinking alcohol.

Ah....Pennsylvania's finest.  Suprised to see he's not from Danville.  I know that town's mayor.  I was in the Navy Reserve with him.

No, he was drinking.

Obviously he was just trying to get rid of a nest, and the bees found a gun and went after him.  After disabling him they planted the gun on him and got out of there.  :-D

I can't say that I've ever heard of .22 buckshot.

Regular sized bullets just ruin the bee-meat.

Ya know...you may be on to something there.  My dad has the 22 magnum variation of whatever those are called.  They are new to me but pretty fun to shoot.

I'm thinking the problem is he hadn't had enough to drink since apparently he hadn't killed off enough of the dumb brain cells.
Take me to the land of milk and honey!!!

SgtMaj

johnnybigfish

I have toted a long barrell 22 pistol w/ratshot while bushhogging my field next to the house. I have great respect for the man that can hit something from horseback as in the old westerns. I couldn't hit anything from the bouncy seat of that tractor. :-D

I coundnt hit the broadside of a barn! But I always said that if I couldnt hit 'em I would sure scare 'em off with the noise!

I thought of it earlier and tried to supress my urge to post it... call this a weak moment...

I've got to HAND it to the guy, that was some HANDy ammo to have.  Let's all give him a HAND for BEEing prepared.

Ok, the puns are out of my system again... for now.

PS - I don't know if you saw the mugshot or not, but he's kinda a HANDsome guy.
