Hello,

I live in Vermont. And today while sitting in our house my wife noticed a bunch of "insects" flying around in our back yard. I opened the sliding door and stepped out onto the porch where I realised that it was a swarm of bees. As I don't know much about beers I stepped back in quite fast.

I noticed the swarm going into a tree where they conveniently calmed. I went out later into the day near nighttime to take a look and I see a huge "swarm". Can anyone identify this type of bee and what should I do? Thanks.

So, the bees are all on top of each other in a big cluster, right?  What you describe pretty much has to be honey bees.

Yes they look like a stack of bees. I guess thats the only way to describe it. I sent you a email with my personal email address to send you the pictures if you don't mine. Thanks!

Yep - they're honey bees.  Looks like a nice, big swarm.

There is only one VT beekeeper on the swarm removal map (click on the "Need Bees Removed?" in the top right corner, so you should probably give him a try.
