At 10AM, there was very little going on.  I filled the feeder and by 3PM there was a full-on attack going on.  I must have spilled some syrup.  I blocked them up and I guess I'll take a quick peek tomorrow and see what it going on inside.

Robbing can spin out of control surprisingly quickly.  I've been lucky that I haven't had much trouble with it.

Pics and more ranting.

Some people are fond of saying "feeding can't hurt".  As you just found it, it can and often does.

I read your post Bill and then went to your Site for the full story.  From a new Bee perspective I must say that the event was very interesting and informative.  However, I am sorry that you had to rush your plans and the stress that the whole thing caused you and your Bees.

I will watch and see if the two hives combine and how that works out.

Thanks for posting and your site is very nice!

Well, the hives are light, so I think the feeding is necessary.  But, I can see why I wouldn't want to do it needlessly.

Thanks.  I'm glad you found it helpful.  All's well now.  The combined hive seems to be doing fine and I could see both colors of bees coming and going today, so they must have made their way through the newspaper.
