I was making some hive stuff for spring and needed metal for a top cover. All I had was a tin ceiling tile from back when I did sheetmetal. Came out pretty neat.

Looks neat, although I'm not sure the bees are going to appreciate the modern deco.

Been a long time since I last saw some of that stuff.  My Grandmothers kitchen ceiling was covered with it.  :)
Is that stuff still available for purchase?

Natalie

Yes it is, I have it in my house. I put some different ones up a few years ago in a couple of the rooms. Some people even use it as backsplash in their kitchens.
You can leave them as is or paint them, you can also buy them already primed.
They come in various designs and colors, copper, tin, gold color etc.
Just google tin tiles and will come up.

Hey Nat!
is that one pc of stuff you used or is it 4 pcs?

your friend,
john

Natalie

Hi John,
Thats not my cover, but the sheets that I used came in 4 foot pieces, so he probably just cut that down to fit the cover. We had to cut the pieces to fit the ceiling and that stuff is pretty sharp, just wear a thick pair of gloves. We also found some crown moulding in the tin to match it.

Did the picture or link get removed? I don't see it.

Natalie

Yeah, he must have taken it down. It was a telescope cover that he covered with punch tin tiles. If you google the punched tin tiles you will see what it is. Its an embossed tin design.

I can still see the pictures.  :?
