Anyone have any experience with Drapers in general and specifically their MHxCarniolan queens?  From the description it's not clear if they are pure MH queens mated to Carnie drones or vice versa, open mated F1 daughters of such a cross, or homogenized stock of crossing the two.  I haven't had a chance to call and talk to them about them, but I'd thought I check and see if anyone here has any first hand knowledge of them.

I'm ordering a package or two to expand my hives this year only(I hope) subsequently I'll be making splits and supplying a queen for the queenless half from a few different northern breeders as I find ones I'm comfortable with.  IF this spring goes well I may even manage a June split using just such a queen.  Hence I've started to poke around the net looking for potential queen sources.

Thanks
Adam

I do have experience with Drapers.  Good people and very helpful.  I have not purchased that particular queen but have gotten NWCs from them.  Provided that hive makes it through the winter, it'll be the 3rd year I've had that hive.  I believe they get their queens from down south, but don't quote me.

Thanks for the info, I'll be sure to speak with them.  It's too bad their website doesn't describe their breeding program just treatment protocols.  I guess that'l be what the phone call is for.
