Good morning all!  As my students take a test, I'm taking a minute to let you know how excited I am!

This is my 4th year beekeeping, but it will be the first year that I will not (so far...) have to buy bees!  All 3 of my hives have made it through the winter!  Now, I haven't fully opened them, just cracked the top and looked in.  But there are bees in all three hives, and there is alot of activity at the front of the hives, with lots of pollen (from what????) coming in.  This tells me there is a queen in there and she is producing!!
I had about a gallon of honey left over this year, so I split it between the three and have fed it to them through hivetop feeders.  They seem to be drinking it, but very slowly.  Should I have done something to the honey (watered it down?) before feeding it?  Or should I just let them do their thing?

Hope everyone is ready for spring!
