as i was walking into work Friday morning i looked at the perimeter fence and saw a Brown blob that didn't belong there.  thought to myself ( that looks like a swarm! )
sure enough it was.
i am the medical administrator of our local jail and since these bees came from my work place my wife decided to call them the jail bird bees

i have been thinking of making a decorated hive and wanting to find a good theme, well since these have the name jail bird bees i am thinking of a bee behind bars as the decoration theme.  if it comes out looking like i want it to i will post it later in the summer. as for now they are ( locked up in one of my nuke boxes

the photo is of the swarm on the jail fence.

It is better to keep ones mouth shut and be thought of as a fool than to open ones mouth and in so doing remove all doubt.

Cool looking swarm. This was the exact visual I had, when you described them to me and I had this thought in my head which now after seeing your picture most likely would have worked.

Seems they are pretty much on one side of the fence right? Well, next time, if you happen to have a piece of plywood with you, you could place it against the back side of the fence, then smack it a good hard lick. They should drop right in the catch box.

Let those bees do anything they choose, but don't let them step on your blue suede shoes! :lau:

Bailey, isn't that just strange.  Wouldn't ya think that they would try to find a tree or something organic to land on instead of wire?  Strange things done in the midnight sun.  Have that beautiful day, health life.  Cindi
There are strange things done in the midnight sun by the men who moil for gold.  The Arctic trails have their secret tales that would make your blood run cold.  The Northern Lights have seen queer sights, but the queerest they ever did see, what the night on the marge of Lake Lebarge, I cremated Sam McGee.  Robert Service

JP, I couldn't see the first image. But yes, I recall the second one, I remember wondering about that one too, why would the bees go inside that speaker, surely there must be better places, strange.  Beautiful day in this great life, great health.  Cindi
