I need to buy 30 frames looks like I have two choices,
1, my local supplier $1.25 each + 8.9% sales tax Total about $41

2. Mann Lake was the cheapest I could find with the total coming to $20, until that is you add in shipping which is another $21, total $41

I think its a conspiricy: :deadhorse:

ruhl bee supply.  no sales tax....but then there is the cost of gas  :-)
might be worth it if you had a reason to come this way, and a big list.

too far for me to drive.
I checked on buying larger quantities but the shipping increases so the finished price is always around $1.25

Thats where I got my initial stuff, taking a day off work and driving 4 hours each way is ok if you have enough to purchase but its not effective just for a few frames.

if you can afford the up front cost I would buy a whole box to get the cheaper per unit price.  For example buying a case from betterbee is 68.50 + 21.61 for shipping which works out to .90cents per frame.  A lot more than you need I know but that just means you won't have to get more later.

you'll use them.  it's a lot nicer to grab new frames when you need them, than to try and reuse old sticky stuff.

$40 shipping for me  :'(

That's still 1.10 per frame, but I was just using betterbee as an example.  I'm assuming that shipping to you is high because they are in NY.  I assumed that one of the major suppliers on the west coast would have a similar discount for a whole case, but I didn't check for specifics.  You know what happens when you assume right :)

Hope you find a good deal somewhere.

I have bought frames from Dadant, Brushy Mountain, and Mann Lake.  Mann Lake's were cheapest and I was amazed and the quality of the pine used and the preciseness of the milling.  Frames fit solidly and squarely.  I think there are only 2 or 3 sources for all the frames and wherever Mann Lake gets theirs they are the best imo.

Come on up, I have about 100 unassembled medium frames setting in the barn for that "rainy day" project that I can't get to until the chicken coop is finished.  I also have about the same number of foundation, they came as a package deal.  5 supers, 50 frames, and 50 sheets of foundation for $85.00 from Western Bee's annual special.  I usually order an extra super as I use 8 frame, as you know.

I think I have about 20 deep end bars foatling around somewhere.   You can pay me back later.
