Is this a drone bee?

Is this a drone bee? He's quite a bit bigger than the worker bees. He was much louder buzzing around as well. He seemed to come and go as he wanted from the hive entrance, but a few times it looked as though other bees were fighting with him, once a bee was on him and both fell off the hive to the ground.

Yep.  Note the HUGE round body and the eyes that grow together on top of their heads.

seems to be missing an antenae as well. hmmm ,, he must be gettin his butt kicked for some reason.
Each new day brings decisions,  these are  new branches on the tree of life.
