Was just wondering what prices are for one full deep and a 5 frame nuc?
My local bee man is $150 and $95.
Can anyone tell the price they paid? :)doak

Doak,

I just did a quick check of the prices from the North Carolina Argicutural Review classified section and the prices for the 5 frame nucs are $90 to $95.  The cheapest I saw for a full deep was $125, but several were closer to $150.

In my area a 5 frame nuc is selling for $115.00 at several places, this is for overwintered local stock.
I did buy some russinan nucs from someone at my club for $80.00 though.
I have also seen them as high as $125.00
$115.00 seems to be the norm though.

I bought a beginner kit (5 frames of bees incl.) $205 ( also unassembled hive body, base & cover, 5 frames, gloves, veil, pith helmet, smoker.) 2 other 5 framers for $65 each
the first one we bought is looking very ready for a honey super; the second one gets a first week inspection tomorrow morning; the third one I just set out on the "bench"
be happy and make others happy.

You have very good prices in your area.

We just picked up 12 Italian Nucs and 26 Packages in eastern Louisiana for $80 and $56 each respectively.  Both were spectacular in their robustness.  This was a club buy and I don't know what kind of discount they gave us.  Drove 850 miles in 18 hours including picking up and one meal.  Very tireing trip but nice bees.

a little on the high side but it just depends on what your getting.  look at the bees and the queens laying pattern if everything is good i might cry when i write the check but i'd probably go for it.
Take me to the land of milk and honey!!!
