Check out the first photo. They decided to start hanging out on the front today. Not sure if they are in pre-swarm mode or it's too hot.

Thanks,

That's not even enough to call it bearding.  Wait until it gets hot!

I know they are no where near swarming. Just curious what's up. They are very active and are just going gangbusters.

Hi waterC! I think theyre just walking around. more will probably start walking around soon. Mine do it sometimes but I dont know why...Maybe cuz theyre new born bees just taking a look around.
One of my hives has been bearding but just a little bit. The other hives are just doing bee stuff. The bearding one was getting a lil crowded tho and I added a super last nite...Theyre still bearding today. Also, last nite,I caught my first swarm of the year! AND used the excluder! it was a super easy shake! right into the box and only about 5000 on my head and shoulders. Not a single sting! I took pics but the battery went dead and apparently, the card didnt record anything! I had one pic with pauls hand in the swarm ball! I thot this was from the hive with the bearding, but apparently not!

john
