fast moving stream as water source?

Okay, time for me to start asking questions.  I'm expecting my first nuc sometime in May and this is all very new to me!  I was wondering if the stream that borders my property is a suitable water source for bees. It's a mountain stream and the water is pretty fast moving most of the time, kind of white water-ish.  Is there any way that they'll be able to drink from that?  Also, I live in Vermont.  My guess is that because of my location I'd want to locate the hive in full sun, correct?  It seems logical but with yesterday's temperatures in the 90's and it's only April, I can't help but think that they'd get baked in full sun!  That about does it for now.  Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

First off join your local bee club, you need some hands on experience and visit your public library for some bee books !

Fast stream, water has wet-ed down the bank, they will get water off little rocks etc.

90 degrees hot ? Phoenix Az. 105 degrees , pallets of bees in open fields.

Take all advise on the inter-net with a grain or two of salt, you don't know how much experience you are reading!

Bee keeping is just a expensive hobby.

Yes the bees will find the water at the banks of the stream.

I would place the hives in full sun. You don't know what hot is until you come up to Placerville in the summer.  We have many days in the 100's and the bees do just fine.  The main thing is they have the water so they can cool off the hive, which they will have with you.

Good luck with your new hive

Thank you both!  I'm so glad to know the stream will work as a water source.  It's nice and cool down there too so it'll be a nice place for them to cool off on hot days.  I guess the 90 degrees freaked me out a bit because normally we'd be worrying about snow storms rather than heat-stroke here in April.  I figure at this rate it'll be about 170 degrees by July!

We  have gotten days at about 105 - 108 for several days at a time and the bees were fine.  Nothing melting.  I keep my bees in the full sun.
