virgin queen/swarm observation and ?

i have picked up a couple of small swarms.  probably after swarms.  they had virgin queens that took a long time to get going and gave me fits  :-)

i observed that these swarms seemed to have an unusually high drone count.  is that something anyone else has noticed?  some of my big swarms seemed to have no, or very few drones in them.

I notice more drones in swarms with virgins also Kathy.
