Most people spend Memorial Day with family and friends.  I managed to avoid that hassle and spend the afternoon doing a cut out in an old garage.  The owner said they were there for 1 1/2 weeks.  Also said he would cut out the boards to allow me access to the hive.  However, upon looking into the crack between the board and seeing about 100 little bee heads staring back at him, he handed me the saw and said, "Here you go.  I'll leave this to you."  Extremely easy day.  Found the queen early on, and as of yesterday morning, she was already laying in newly drawn comb in their new home.  Guess they like the new digs... :bee:

I generally use these cardboard nucs for transporting my cutouts.  They fold flat for easy storage in my garage, where storage space is at a premium...
