Does anyone use Lemon Grass Oil to coax workers on to a frame? Or moving on to a specific frame in the hive.  I was thinking about using lemon grass oil to "direct" my bees towards working specific frames within my hives. If I placed lemon grass oil and perhaps a bit of their own honey on the areas I wanted them to work, would this encourage them to work the frames I interested in have them fill with honey?  :? Or is this just a pipe dream of an old man that has spent too much time out in the sun...... :-P

Tucker

He who would gather honey must bear the sting of the bees.

You may get their interest but not for long and I wouldn't expect them to work anything because you've put some lemongrass here or there.

Lemon grass mimics nasonov or orientating pheromone the bees use to attract foragers or other bees to a new location.
