Lemon Balm

I've got a nice-sized lemon balm planting in my boxed herb garden. I know it can be propagated by division as well as seed...my question is: I've heard that bees are attracted to it (and to other mints). Do y'all think it would be OK to plant around my hives?

Let it go to seed and you'll have plenty of it - everywhere!  Lemon Balm is very prolific, but not like the usual mint that expands by runners.  It too will form a mat, but it's much easier to pull than standard mint.  It spreads by seeds.  I have lots of it growing just behind the hives, I pull whatever I don't want.  The girls love it!

Exactly. :) I planted one about 5 years ago, and now it comes up like weeds all over the place. The funny (strange) thing is, I rarely see the bees in it. There must be something else they prefer blooming at the same time in this area. :?
