Just curious, well, more than that, because I am not sure what to do.  I did another cutout today, one of a few, and had lots of bits and pieces.  What do you do with the parts of the brood comb that you cut off to fit into the frames?  This colony had built things at all angles, so there were lots of weird cuts.  I hate to waste any of it, but dang..... some of the pieces are more trouble than they seem they are worth.  Do any of you have a minimum size, or like me... fly for the seat right now?

for me, it's kind of a judgment call.  you are probably going to toss out some brood in a cutout like that.  i try to save the biggest pieces and also save the pieces with eggs and very young larvae, if i can.  that can be hard if it's built in newer comb or it's a really difficult cutout. some doesn't hold together to well.  save the best and biggest and don't feel to bad if you can't save it all.  you'll also get better at judging the size of the pieces as you go.  you'll find with more experience, you'll damage less and save more.

Thanks, that is kinda what I was hoping to hear.  I don't want to waste any, but today was one of those days.  It was a struggle to be patient and give the brood the care they deserved.  For me, it was a mess.  I still love it, and am happy when done, but whew.... :-P
