This is my first year and so far it had been great but the bearding has me confused. Two weeks ago the temperature was very warm for Ottawa, Canada.
Got to high 90s with humidex.Bees bearded outside both my hives and I was relieved to find info on this site that it was natural. Once the temp went down they stopped. Today was cool and windy and I noticed that they were congregating again. There are not a lot, maybe 2 or 300. They are walking around the entrance board like they are cleaning it. There is lots of room as I just added another frame in each hive. Is there anything I should be looking for ?

Many thanks
Dave

Don't worry, even after two weeks, it's still natural.    :)

I've had them beard when they had two empty supers on. They just like to lay out in the cool night air.
