I have a queen less hive with not many bees in it. I opened it up to see what is going on today. Inspecting the hive there are some bees, no eggs and not much of anything. In the middle frame there was s small section of hollowed out comb and a white cocoon about a half of an inch long. It was just setting in the middle of the comb and not attached. Is this a wax moth cocoon being pure white? there is no other evidence of wax moths. Any thoughts?

Do you have a picture? Sounds like wax moths.
