It was a really nice day today, close to 60 degrees on the Jersey Pa border.  I checked the 2 hives and everything seemed fine.  As earlier suggested, I placed some newspaper on the top super frames and placed dried sugar on top of the newspaper.  The bees are eating the sugar up nicely but in one hive, they also took apart (ate?) the newspaper.  It leaves me less room to place sugar but I'm also concerned about where the newspaper bits went to.  Comments welcome.

                                  Thanks,

I would guess that they carried it outside to get rid of it, if you do not see it on the bottomboard.

Next time put in a more interesting section of the newspaper, remember this time of year they are mostly females, they don't want to read the sports section !!   :hissyfit:
