This is the first time I have overwintered 5 frame nucs. Usually my splits are in the spring.
For you that have overwintered nucs, especially folks in the middle Ga, Al and Miss regions....when do you move them from the nuc into a full body?
I don't want to move them too soon and have them struggle to keep warm in the cool nights. But I do want to do it asap, to get them cranking for spring/summer flow.
Thanks

When your 5 frame nuc boxes are full of bees move them.  If they don't need the room yet then no big hurry, if they need the room then move them.  There will be enough bees to stay warm enough.

When they need the room give it to them, are you feeding them? they will get there sooner

Between now and mid March, keep a close eye on your nuc's and single deeps. The days are creeping to longer daylight and this is when then the queen begins her slowly increase in egg laying.
When the bees are covering 4 or more frames in a 5 frame nuc, catch a few warm sunny days in the 60's and do it. :)doak
