Is there drones all summer ?
Acts2:37: Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
38: Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39: For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
40: And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation

depends on where you are and maybe the year.  i had tons of drones early.  many more than usual.  from the swarm calls i took and passed on, it was a heavy swarm  year.  the drones are down to normal numbers now and i expect then numbers to continue to reduce until the end of august or early September.  it may be a bit different for your area and for the year you are having.

I had scads and scads of drones earlier in the year.  Went through two different hives yesterday and don't recall seeing very many at all.  It made an impression on me and I noticed.  I saw a small patch of drone brood and got to looking for drones and didn't see any.

You are exactly right, Live Free.  There are a lot of variables in beekeeping and people are sharing their personal experiences from widely varying climates, hive configurations and races of bees so you have to decide what applies to your situation and what doesn't.  I love all the diversity of opinions because what doesn't apply to me now may be very helpful to me down the road.
