Just picked up a gallon of mistint paint at the hell hole aka WalMart for $3.88.  For some reason Ive never even thought to look there for it til tonight. It's a shade of baby poop green but I don't figure the girls will mind. The Lowe's here at home still charge $10 a gallon for their mistints. I'll take my baby poop green and save myself six bucks.

find another shade and go for the camouflage look-RDY-B

You should have spent the extra $6.  I have learned the hard way that the Walmart crap takes about 4 coats for good coverage, and doesn't stand up very well.  I had to repaint mine after a year.

Huh?

Is this post about a great deal from wal-mart?
Or the much higher ripoff price from another place?

Hard to follow your message as your informing us of your great purchase from Walmart while your bashing them. You still sold out to save a buck and bought from some place that some love to hate. Do you really hate walmart, or is this just the supposed vogue thing to say, so you do not need to feel bad about mentioning the purchase?

Or wait, was it about liking another place while complaining about their price, and then not buying from them?

Old paint from construction.   Free.   And the age should not matter too much.  Chunky paint still goes on fine and the bees don't matter.  And the price is right.

The only thing I found weird, was your reply. I didn't know that the content of any topic was meant to stay within the parameters of being in 'vogue' as you suggest. I was just simply informing other beeks about the Walmart option on the chance that it could have helped someone out. I'm sorry if the topic wasn't as in depth or earth shattering as some good ole SC rhetoric, but it's the best I can do as a first year beek. Feel free to place me on the ignore list; then you won't be bothered by my weird, en vogue posts anymore.

BjornBee

Oh come on.

You mention a great buy but call the very place you bought it from a "hell Hole".

I'm just trying to find out your rationale in the comment. Why not just mention the great buy? Why the comment about a "hell hole"? I just think some try to be "PC" or in fashion. Like if mentioning you bought from Walmart, would get some kind of a negative response. Or you might be embarrassed about it.

I would think that for anyone that actually thought Walmart was a hell hole, it would not be a place to actually go buy something, let alone comment about it on a forum.

Ignore you?

You pass off advice you seemingly would not take yourself.

Me? I shop at Walmart. As well as many other places. Got some nice deals there. I may not buy local fruits and veggies there. But perhaps underwear and bird seed.

I bought barn and fence paint at menards twice that took three coats to cover for about 11 or 12 bucks then kills barn and fence paint for 13 that covers better in once coat than four of menards crap.  Right now wally world kills the competition for bang for buck.  Find me a cheaper paint that last as long ill buy it.  The crap I got at menards I painted with four or five coats and one month in sun and it was toast.  Kills from menards still looks great.

I thought about buying some of wallys mis-mix but I decided I did not want my bee yard to look like a slum lord was running the joint.  Ya, ya, it helps the bees with orientation.

Lol. Nope. Haven't even got warmed up yet. Apparently Bjorn holds a special place in his heart for WalMart and I apparently stepped on some toes with my reference.

Let's play nice, fellow beeks! Save the aggression for the things that really matter, like the mosque at Ground Zero!

Not at all. I do support the free market, business in general, and perhaps other aspects that some do not understand. If people want to shop there, and I suspect many do....like you, then that is their choice. I am however, curious to why some bash them so, and then shop there also. I think many, perhaps as you suggest for yourself, call them a "hell hole" until the price is right, then you sell out your convictions, buy what you need....then go back to bashing them the next day.

Does that sound right?

I simply asked why a person that calls the very place they shop, support, and patronize,..... a hell hole?

Maybe it's just me. I just was curious to the rationale.

Sell out my convictions huh? You're hilarious.

I think wal-mart is a great place to get good deals on some items but the place has gained a bad reputation from many people that are against the company and refuse to shop there. This crowd has given the business titles like "hell hole" and for people that are not die-hard fans or swear by the wal-mart experience probably see this as a joke. In some of my experiences at Wal-Mart I can see how they earned that title but I believe it is merely a common joke people say about the store and nothing more. I think the initial statement is being read into too much.

Lowes has 1gal mistint for $5.00. Had good luck with their brand of paint (valspar?).

the union went after wal-mart.  it's that simple.

i have gotten good deals a Lowes, but even better Home Depot.  don't worry if it's indoor or outdoor latex.  both work fine.

we also have a paint recycling center down in Portland.  they have good deals on latex paint by the 5 gallon bucket.

What I find puzzling is that people who dislike WalMart readily shop at Dollar General, Target, Five Below and other such stores. I don't see how the other stores are all that much different.

quite common.  just because a place has a bargain doesn't make it a memorable shopping experience.
