I purchased a 1 1/2 honey gate from Mann Lake Supply last year,m and the darn thing leaks from the right side and the left side and out the top, then it runs down the back side of the gate. I'm thinking it's too late to return this, so I'm thinking I want to fix it. So I'm going to replace the O-ring. The question is, is there an O-ring for food equipment products, or will an O-ring from the parts store work? Not sure if this is a dumb question or not. Thanks for your replies.

Parts store works fine. Dip it in alcohol first if it worries you!  :-D

as long as you are fixing it you should replace the plastic bolt with a metal one.  Years ago I started bottling out of a full pail and the plastic one broke.  I was stuck holding back 60#s of honey.  If my wife wouldn't have been home to get another bucket I would have been there for awhile.  New steel thumb screw costs about .50

I will second that. Same thing happened to me.

Maybe talk to Mann lake - they might replace it - a good experience for a customer keeps them comin back
