Is there a compelling reason NOT to go ahead and install my metal mouse guard now.

Temps at night are low 40s and 60s/70s during the day.

I set it in place today ( without screwing it in place) to make sure it was too much of an obstruction.  It seems to work fine without hindering them.

I'm thinking of just screwing it in for the season and being done with it.

As long as the bees can come and go without trouble, there shouldn't be an issue.  It will also help prevent robbing.  I'm about to install mine, too.  Not only is it time, but the yellow jackets are being bad and I need to reduce the openings for that reason.

the only reason that I can see not to is if like me you use robber screens during the rest of the year.  Robbing will kick in hard here when the golden rod and asters  are  completely gone.  Mouse problems wont start until Nov maybe even Dec.
