The call I got earlier today was "We have bees in our storage building and if you can't come and remove them today, we will have to kill them!"

I rescheduled my evening appointments and went and did this job which turned out to be a lot of fun.

Another swarm filled the air!

Yes, Fun, Fun, Fun. I could feel your joy watching this swarm. I really liked this video so much, as I could feel your good energy the whole time. Thanks again for posting this video. Very simple, but very pleasing and brought that smile to my face. (as Cindi would say)

Good size hive.  How often do you see bees build comb bottom up, like those over that top plate?

Most of what I come across is conventional or semi conventional construction so wall voids are usually framed correctly for the most part.

Bees tend to build from the top plate down in most cases but I've seen them occasionally build from the bottom up, usually small colonies though, hardly ever big booming colonies.

Now plaster walls can be quite different as bees will often just pick a spot somewhere to begin building. Their high point could be anywhere in a plaster wall due to old style/unorthodox construction and different lathe types.

This one with this make shift wall, the high point was actually that 2 x 4 its just that it had space behind it for them to build surplus honey.

Everything that was above the 2 x 4 was surplus honey.

This is another nice video JP. Very cool seeing all the bees in the air. I bet the onlookers take a few steps back while this is going on.

Good job JP, and thanks for sharing it with us.

When the swarm ensued all who were left were workers and only one guy said something when there were thousands of bees in the air, something like Holy $#%# you got your hands full now!  :-D
