The County Council will take up a new zoning ordenance this comming year that will effect beeks.
The entire County is now being re-zoned by the Area Planning Office to bring the zoning into line with the new definations in the new rule.
Under the new rules beekeeping will be banned in most areas. Property zoned for agriculture, and industrial uses, will be allowed to have unlimmited numbers of hives. Residential Estates with more than 2 acres can have one hive per ten acres. All other areas will not be allowed to keep bees.
If you,or a beek you know, live in Vigo County Indiana contact your County Councilman and look into this ASAP.

This and all other similar moves by local governments should be sent to Kim Flottum at Beeculture. He has an organized group fighting such things.
