Varroa mites

Do any of you remember the article over the summer in bee culture about drones.  They said instead of freezing them start a nucleus hive and put the drone frames in there till they hatch out that way you saturate the area with drones.  I just read an article about varroa mites and it said that drones can carry mites to hives that dont have mites by attaching themselves to the drones that visit other hives.  Makes sense to me im glad i read the article about it. I am going to freeze my drone frames not start a nucleus hive to spread mites.  Just another thing that i have read with contradicting outcomes.

I use to cut drone combs off and dig then into ground.
Even if you kill them there are enough drones in sky to mate.
