I am looking to start into beekeeping.  Trying to find out if the city of Tampa allows beehives on personal property, or do we have to keep them in the country.

Always been interested in this as a hobby, now the kids are older and i can spend some money on MY hobbies....

Hello and Welcome!

This is a great forum for learning more about bees and beekeeping. Be sure to check out the "Backyard Beekeeping Course" on the main Beemaster page - that's where I started over 7 years ago.

As for your Tampa questions - get involved with the local club. Clubs are good places to find mentors and get connected with nearby beekeepers. The locals can help direct you as to which beekeeping practices work best in your area.

Go ahead and get the bees until someone complains.   :-D   They are worth it.

welcome, have you talked to your neighbors yet, if they don't care, have at it, otherwise there are other options, but it is nice to have them close

Welcome!
I am a member of the Tampa Bay Beekeepers Association we meet the second Thursday of every month, come see us! It was my understanding that you can't keep bees in the city of Tampa but maybe someone that knows more than I can chime in.
