Cutout Frame Maintenance Question

Don't know if this should be in General section but...  So I have a couple of hives from cutouts.  They have a bunch of frames that were emptied out as colony shrank for winter.  These frames have holes and gaps.   In cutout beeks experience, will the bees fill these gaps as the colony grows, or should I clean out the frame and start over with foundation, or put in some starter strips where the gaps are?  Thoughts?

They will not go back and patch up old comb.  Your best best is to rotate them out.

I usually rotate the cut comb out as well and fairly quickly. It just makes management easier.

I will agree, rotate them out. Spring is a good time to do this, move them to the outside of the brood nest then finally out of the hive.
those hot bees will have you steppin and a fetchin like your heads on fire and your keister is a catchin!!!

Bees will be bees and do as they please!
