Bee removal ?

I found a hive in a stump 1 year ago and it is still there.
What is the best way to remove them.how are these bees
Making it the top of the stump is wide open to the elements.
I will try to post some pictures. I can not get the pictures to work

I guess it depends on what your goal is.

If the bees are not bothering anyone,  I would suggest leaving them and setting up some swarm traps in the area to catch a swarm.  This way you will keep the genetics.  If you must remove them,  than some pictures would be helpful to address the possibilities of a cut out, or if a trap out is needed.

to items for thought, hollow stump water passes by bees and combs, propolis /and/or wax cap, or both.

Weird about a hive in an open stump like that.  Maybe fit a  hive body and a top over the top of the stump and see it the bees move up with the honey for you to rob, then leave the top in place for them?  That way you do not have to cut them out and still get the honey.
