Oh my goodness had such an easy time getting it.  We were finished in less than 30 minutes.  I can see why this is an addictive hobby.  What a rush.  Bring on more swarm calls.  Oh wait guess I better get some more hive bottoms and tops put together. :)

Yup the season is on! Can't wait for my first for the year. I have plans for big expansion!

Expansion.  Me too.  So far we have gone from 1 this winter to 5 so far.  woot woot!  Hoping to make it up to 10.

I went from 3 to 15 hives in weeks during swarm season! Had to rush order more woodware!  :-D

Oh, I had a such tough swarm removal last night. 20 ft up!!!! The guy on the phone estimated it was 14 which I could have easily reached. 20ft is tough. Had to use all my tricks and still didn't get them all, AT NIGHT. Should have waited till day time for such a high up swarm capture.

Hey Montauk who did you leave your name with to get all those swarm calls?

Thanks, Montauk.  I have seen those ads on craigslist and wondered how much action they actually got from them.  I just posted my own ad.  (crossing my fingers)

what section of Craigslist do you post on??

dp

I've posted on craigslist twice and got flagged for removal both times.  Apparently, I'm stepping on someones feet in my area?

I've had postings pulled when they are in the wrong spot.  For instance, wanted ads placed in the Farm section would get pulled.  Kinda silly really.

I just got a swarm call at 7:30 tonight , driving 20 miles at day break to get them , I hope they will still be there in the morning, and hopefully it won't rain , this will be my first swarm catch that wasn't in a swarm trap.

I caught the swarm put them in 2 mediums with 10 frames each, I used 4 frames with honey in top medium and put an empty deep on top, I don't have any eggs or brood to add to keep them from leaving I thought I would leave them closed up for a couple of days I have a venilated cover on them right now, is there anything else I should do in the next couple of days, I plan on giving them some syrup in a couple of days and removing the pieces of tree branch from empty super.I guess I better start putting together some more wooden ware.
