girls water source

I cut my downspout draining into a large container for a water source beside hive and put some sticks in it for a landing, but i have not seen a bee in it for over a week, or at all for that matter.  I thought this was a good idea,  they must not like it or something

It's not hot weather yet. The nectar evaporation is likely giving them the water they need.

Agreed, it will be perfect in the summer! I left a pan sitting on a grill about 30 feet in front of my hives last summer. I actually forgot it while grilling, but after it rained I noticed lots of bees drinking the rain water! So, just give it time!
